REASON # 57 – HIKING

If Hiking is your activity of choice, the Cowichan Valley offers many choices for beginner to advance alike. There are trails for everyone! For the south end residents Cobble Hill Mountain Park is probably the favorite location for many residents. This recreation Area is made up of 26 kilometres of signed trails ranging in difficulty from easy, technical single-track to double-track mountain trails. There is lots of parking, washroom and a bonus dog park for your furry friends. Closer to Duncan, Maple Mountain and Tzouhalem Mountain are amazing with numerous trails, again from easy to difficult and often with stunning views. Although there is a road to the top of Mount Prevots, there are many trails meandering to the top that offers incredible views of the valley. These hikes are only a few of what is available in the Cowichan Valley. Apps like, All trails, will provide you with numerous choices. Before leaving on your outing, remember to follow the principles of “Adventure Smart” and make sure you have a Trip Plan and have the 10 essentials.
